The Reserve Bank return for the week ended Monday, March 13, was gazetted last night. The statement is balanced *at £31,326,950, or £356,746 less than ,at the close of the previous week. The sterling exchange reserve, at £4,591,686, is £114,211 lower than- it was a week ago. The proportion of reserve to demand liabilities is a little greater, at £25,062, there having been a fall of £510,359 in the level of Government deposits.
The note issue has also fallen by £10,815.
Advances to the Primary Produce Marketing Department are £17,610 higher, while those for other purposes have fallen by £60,000. The item showing bills discounted at £150,000 last week has now disappeared from the statement.
