I am sorry to see responsible men like Messrs Savage, Hamilton, Semple and others indulging in duels which can have only one

effect; the stirring up of class hatred, which surely is bad
enough already. I am .also sorry to find citizens, in
every other way desirable, doing all
they can to unsettle the class of people *
among whom they mingle. Would it not be much better to make the best of things as they are today, and try to bring about a better feeling, than merely to say things which, even if they are true, cannot do any good, but, on the contrary, national harm? — CITIZEN.
