Primary School Sports Association Meets
Representing the various schools in the area, there were 20 delegates present at the annual meeting of the Whangarei District Primary Schools Sports Association, held at the Whangarei School last night. The report presented by the retiring president, Mr K. Hayr, showed that- the association had come through a most successful season.
Officers elected were: —President, Mr A. F. Darcombe (Onerahi); vicepresidents, Mr E. A. Boyd (Hikurangi) and Mr C. A. Reed (HoraHora); secretary, Mr D. W. Strong (Whangarei) ; treasurer and assistant secretary, Mr R. Cleary (Matarau Road); aud'tor. Mr C. C. Tills (Kamo).
Special Committees,
■Special committees to control the various sports under the association were also appointed. Expressions of appreciation were passed by members for the untiring services to the 'association rendered by Mr Hayr and the retiring secretary, Mr J. Rarity. The annual athletic sports meeting of the association will be held in Whangarei on Friday, March 31, nominations closing with the secretary on Friday, March 17,
Varifous matters affecting the organisation and activities of the association were also discussed.
