Boys’ Events
The annual swimming sports of the Whangarei Boys’ High School took place in perfect summer weather in the Primary School baths thia afternoon.
Nearly 150 pupils took part, this being considerably above last year’s entry.
There were 70 entries in the diving contest, and the finalists for the neat dive to-morrow night are; Wilson, Rice. Haydn, Haigh, Hegley, Lovatt, and Campbell. As was the case with the similar event of the girls’ school yesterday, handicap events and preliminaries occupied the greater part of the programme. Only one championship was decided, this being the 220 yards senior event, won by P. Goodison. All other championship finals will be decided this evening, jointly with those ,of the Girls’ School.
