NORTHLAND TRIBE
Hello Everybody—
Office, Water St~ Whangarei, Tuesday, January 24. 1939.
And here’s the end of the holidays! Even the weather seems to have decided that playtime is over and it's time to settle down to steady work. Not before time, I’m sure our farmer folk consider, and certainly it will be fine to see our lawns fresh and green instead of parched and yellow.
I don’t think Kupe is quite so pleased about the rain, but when you consider that he’s just begun a short camping holiday, you really can’t blame him.
Of course the S.P. and I, like the second little pig, stayed at home, For even though he’s a very good S.P. these days, he’s rather too young to be a camper. I really believe he has turned over a new leaf of late. Let’s hope' it stays turned!
If the Weatherman knowns his job he’ll be kind and have the sun shining by Wednesday, so that school for 1939 can begin brightly. Best wishes to all the small folk who are going for the first time. They’ll find lots of wonderful things there. And for the cider ones, a good and happy year with enough hard work to keep them busy, and enough fun to keep them gay. Cheerio till next %veek. 5
