Alleged Breach Of Bankruptcy Act

Pleading not guilty to two charges under the Bankruptcy Act, Robert Wakefield Harris, a farmer and land agent, of Marton, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, when he appeared before •Mr H. J. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon. The accused was allowed bail of £IOO in his own recognisance, with one surety of a similar amount.
The charges were of failing to keep proper books, and incurring debts at a time when he had no reasonable or probable expectation of being able to ■8 pay.
