Refugees Reach France

(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 20. Between 12,000 and 15,000 refugees from Spain crossed into France to-day, and thousands more, mostly women, children and wounded soldiers, are massing on the frontier. Two columns of retreating Republicans, each of 6000 men, are approaching Prats de Mollo.

A thousand refugees, including 200 militiamen, whom the French authorities disarmed, entrained from Le Perthus for the interior of France. In accordance with the French Government’s orders, all Spaniards of military age, not only troops, who have crossed the frontier, are being sent back to Spain if unwouhded. Some resisted, compelling the Mobile Guards to use force.
