Blundell - Symes
The mari’iage of Linda, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Symes, to Ronald Blundell, younger son of Mr. E. H. Blundell and the late Mrs. Blundell, of New Plymouth, was celebrated on Wednesday at St. John's Church, Glenbervie. Blue and pink colouring predominated in the floral decorations for the service at which the Rev. H. W. Heaslip officiated. The bride, who entered the church with her father, chose a beautifully cut gown of ivory self-patterned tinselled brocade classically simple in line. The soft full bodice was caught in at the waistline to a diagonal skirt, continuing into a long train. A short tulle veil was caught to the head with a cluster of orange blossom and she carried a fragrant, bouquet of cream carnations. She was attended by Miss Muriel Millington, who wore a charming gown of cyclamen chiffon, heavily rucked and trimmed with tiny velvet bows from the neckline to the hem. On her head she wore a top-knot of delphiniums and carnations and she carried a sheath of the same flowers. Attending the bridegroom was Mr. Claude Kyngdon. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride’s home where Mrs. A. C. Symes received the guests wearing a frock of navy and white patterned ninon with a matching hat of Ballibuntal straw.
