CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.* Travelling along the Marsh La® Road, leading into Christchurch,® motorist had just watched his spee® ometer swing toward the 50 miles fl mark when he ran into a swarfl of bees. I The bees fell against the windscreefl with a noise like hailstones falling ® a tin roof, and hundreds fell dead fl maimed on the bonnet, the runniifl boards and the wings. ‘ I Another section of ..the swarm wfl drawn through the open window of til car to finish on the back seat or til ledge below the rear vision windoiyl The driver snatched a dqster ai%| laid lustily about his head until he wal able to bring his car to a standstill and beat a hasty retreat. I When the bees that could fly hal flown away and the others had beerl scraped out onto the road, the drivel had a difficult task in removing honeJ iron; the windscreen, bonnet, lamps wings and radiator grille. The car had to be thoroughly washed to clean it.
