Leader Wanted For Chinese Puppet Government
(Independent Cable Service.) (Received 10 a.m.) PEKING, January 25. After three days, a conference of six representatives of the Peking and Nanking puppet Governments and 20 Japanese observers adjourned yesterday. It failed to establish a united Japan-ese-controlled administration. The greatest difficulty lies in finding a Chinese leader of sufficiently high standing willing to head the Government. The conference, however, agreed to increase the production of cotton and coal in North China to meet Japan’s needs.
