Australian Programme For Defaulter

The champion three-ycar-old Defaulter is to do no more racing in the Dominion prior to his departure for Australia. This statement was made recently by Mr H. D. Greenwood, who said Defaulter would leave for Sydney about the middle of next month, although he would not be racing there until April. Defaulter's first start in Sydney will be in the Chipping Norton Plate, weight-for-age, 1,1 miles, at Warwick Farm on April 1. He ig not engaged in the A.J.C. St. Leger, but he will contest the weight-for-age races at the Australian Jockey Club’s autumn meeting at Randwick on April 8, 10, 12, and 15. These races will complete his three-year-old season. L. J. Ellis, who is to ride Defaulter in Sydney, leaves for Australia in February. Ellis has accepted the ride on Disdain in her Melbourne engagements. One of the races Disdain is likely to contest is the Oakleigh Plate, of £ISOO, 5| furlongs, which will be run at Caulfield on February 18.
