Large Entry At Parua Bay Sale
Walter Wakelin reports having held his first sale of the year at Parua Bay yesterday, when a large entry met with only a fair demand from a large attendance. The advertised herd of 23 dairy cows was passed in, the prices offered not reaching the vendor’s reserves.
The first Shorthorn calv,es of the year were sold on acocunt of Mr C. D. McGregor, his line of 21 mixed sexes realising £2 5/-.' Quotations. —
Fat cows, £5 to £6 7/6; forward conditioned cows, £2 15/- to £4; boner cows, £1 5/- to £2 15/-; a line of 26 two-year-old Shorthorn steers was passed in at £5 10/-; yearling steers, £2 5/- to £3 12/6; yearling Shorthorn heifers, £2 to £2 15/-; Jersey heifer calves, to £1 15/-; dairy cows and heifers, £3 to £6; boner bulls, £3 10/- to £6 10/-; , working bullocks, £6; cows .and calves, £4 to £5.
