Hospital Has No Main Entrance
Some of his friends wishing to visit the Whangarei District Hospital had not been able to find their way into the building, said Mr H. L. Younger yesterday. He was speaking at a meeting of the Hospital Board.
“There is no real front entrance to the institution, and our work on the gardens is wasted as far as the public is concerned,” remarked the chairman, Mr J, A. S. MacKay.* Better Parking Facilities.
Mr A. Clarke started , the ball rolling when, he suggested that the house committee should consider providing improved parking space in the hospital grounds for visiting cars. Mrs V. Donaldson considered that the flat paddock at the foot of Hospital Road hill should be utilised for the purpose. >
“Visitors have remarked that we have no main entrance,” she added. The chairman" thought that -the present nurses’ tennis court should be utilised as a parking space ancl two new courts laid down in the paddock. “The matron has asked for 'an additional tennis court for the use of the domestic staff,” he said. I “It’s time we came in the front door instead of the back,” said Mr Younger,
The question Was left in the hands of the house committee.
