New Year’s Racing Carnival Marked by Totalisator Increases
The new year racing carnival, begun on Saturday and CONTINUED YESTERDAY, WAS PRODUCTIVE OF RECORD ATTENDANCES IN MANY CASES. WHILE TOTALISATOR INVESTMENTS IN NEARLY EVERY INSTANCE SHOWED REMARKABLE INCREASES. The racing was of a high standard, close finishes being the order of the day. At Ellerslie, Round Up atoned for his Auckland Gup defeat by winning the principal event yesterday. Following are results from the various centres:—
