Going, who took three wickets for 48 runs and six for 26, were the main factors in Waikato’s victory by eight wickets over 4 Marlborough in the Hawke Cup game. Although 18 aims behind on the first innings, Waikato fought back splendidly in the second. Marlborough, made 141 in its first innings, and 96 in the second, ‘ Waikato’s first innings produced 123 (T. Lydri ’36, M.* Lyon 25) and* in- the second innings two wickets were down for 120 (T. Lyon not out 61).
