Death of Colonel Tate
[Special to •'Northern Advocate"] WELLINGTON, This Day. The death has occurred, in Greytown,' of Colonel Robert Ward Tate, C.M.G., C.8.E., aged 74. Colonel Tate was at one time Stipendiary Magistrate at Whangaref, being appointed to this position following hfs return from Samoa, where he became the first Civil Administrator in 1920. Colonel Tate was educated at Timaru High School, studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1886. After leaving Whangarei Colonel' Tate was appointed magistrate at Ne\fr Plymouth, retiring in 1933, when he resumed his former partnership with Mr J. F. Thompson in Greytown. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
