Far North Inter-School Sports

A large gathering of residents and visitors witnessed contests for the championship cup and handicap banner, competed for annually by the combined schools of the Far North. These schools Waiharara, Motutangi, Hoqhora, Waihopo, and Ngataki —all fielded a complete list of entrants, and many thrilling struggles for pride of place at the winning tape resulted. The organising secretary, Mr J. W. Creamer, was assisted by a committee of teachers and residents, whose energetic efforts contributed largely to the success of the meeting. A very comprehensive programme was run off with precision and efficiency, reflecting great credit upon the organisers and those responsible for the training of the children. Altogether a very fine sporting spirit prevailed among the contestants.
