The course proper, with the poles 55 feet out, was open for fast work at Ellerslie this moi'ning, but, owing to the heavy rain last night, the going was holding. Bronze Emerald got about two lengths the better of the start from Chelandry at the four-furlong post, and ran home in 53 seconds. Chelandry was closer at the finish, her time being 52 2-5 seconds.

Aero King covered a similar distance in 56 4-5 seconds. Blonde Princess covered four furlongs in 55 seconds.

Palmint and Erination were sent over six furlongs, which occupied 1.23.

Electric Flash worked over about seven furlongs, but was not doing better than about 15 seconds to the furlong. Glen Abb and Padishah wore companions over a mile, the first half taking 52 2-5 seconds and the full distance 1.46 2-5.

Kelly and Knight of Australia covered a similar distance in 1.49 4-5, the first half-mile taking 53 1-5 seconds. Kelly was holding his companion at the finish, though Knight, of Australia worked well.

Strotto went away from the sixfurlong post, and, after covering the first three in 33 4-5 seconds, ran the full distance in 1.18 4-5

Electric Spear and Bonny Bello covered half a mile, the latter finishing eight lengths in front in 53 4-5 seconds.

Konneta began quicker than High Caste al the five-furlong post. The former was two lengths in front after running the first two furlongs in 24 seconds, but High Caste beat her home in 1.5 4-5.

Mai do Mer ran a mile in 1,55 1-5. Innovation coming home with him over the last half, which* took 54 1-5 seconds.

Valspear went away from the fivefurlong post, and came homo in 1.9. King Dazzle finished in front of Esquire al the end of three furlongs in 39 4-5 seconds. King Dazzle worked better on the tan than when he galloped previously.
