First Tree Far New Park
A delightfully topical hit was made at the function last night when fathers were entertained by the Whangarei League of Mothers. The Mayor and Mayoress were presented with a large bon-bon. which, on being pulled, revealed a message referring to the naming of the William Jones Motor Camp after the Mayor, and asking him to present a certificate to the president of the league, Mrs Inkster. In return, the Mayor received a toy* tree, in an appropriate pot, the first to be presented to the William Jones Park.
