18,500 British Troops in Palestine
(Received 2 p.m.) JERUSALEM, October 26. Five Arabs were killed in extensive army operations north of Nazareth. The Arab tillage of Miar, in the Haifa district, was demolished, as a punishment for sniping and damaging roads. i ! v j 7! ■ The British force in Palestine at present is 18,500 officers and men. Permits are being allotted for a maximum of 4870 foreign immigrants, mostly Jews, for six months ending March 31, 1939.
