Two more drivers were sentenced to two weeks’ imprisonment and each had his license canociied. William John Lucherhand, 36. formerly a steward on the Awatea, admitted being intoxicated in charge of a car on the Queen’s Wharf on Saturday. In the second case. Robert Cecil Bishop, 23, clerk, was charged with being intoxicated in a car on Dairy Fiat Road, Northland, on Sunday afternoon.

Mr Orr Walker, S.M.. said the public must be protected against reckless men who have no consideration for others on the road.
