Hon. A. D. McLeod, Ex-Minister, Passes

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] WELLINGTON, This Day. Minister of Lands in the Reform Government from 1924 to 1928, and a well-known sheep farmer in the Wairarapa, the Hon. Alexander Donald McLeod died at his home in Martinborough last night. Mr McLeod was known throughout New Zealand as Minister Of Lands. When the Hon. D. H. Guthrie was compelled to relinquish the portfolio in 1924, Mr McLeod was called to Cabinet in his place. A native of the Wairarapa, Mr McLeod was born in 1872. He was the third son of the late Mr William McLeod, one of the early pioneers of the district. ' 1
