Champion Wrestlers For Whangarei
There it: no doubt that the wrestler in whom followers of the mat sport in Whangarei arc most keenly interested is ‘‘Lofty'’ Blomfield. the New Zealand champion. Consequently the news will be welcomed that Blomfield is to be one of the contestants in the match sot down for decision here tomorrow night
His opponent will be the brilliant Canadian, Pat Meehan, who has retained his hold on the public almost since activities for the year opened. Blomfield and Meehan are two of the biggest favourites of the year and great interest attaches to a match between them ,as it is bound to be productive of first-class wrestling and also punctuated by the agressive exchanges which do so much to arouse the crowd’s excitement. Blomfield, by his performances in recent weeks against such men as Lopez and Detton, has shown that there is no need for his supporters to be worried over his form at the present time. The opposition which will be forthcoming from Meehan, however, must not be under-estimated. The Canadian is always a tough proposition to handle and he has been responsible for some of the most brilliant displays of the year. 264.
