South Canterbury Defeats Taranaki
Rugby
(Per press Aspoctat:.—Coivy right) TIMARU. This Day. South Canterbury defeated the touring Taranaki Rugby team by 5 points : to 3 yesterday in the presence of a good crowd. The standard of play ; was very poor, neither side rising to , representative form. Flay among the forwards was very willing, and in some cases several players were lucky not to be ordered off in the second ! half.
j The visitors saw plenty of the ball. I and' Meuli made a number of good I openings. Had the visitors made the most of their opportunities they should i have won comfortably.
