Date of General Election

[Special to “Northern Advocate” 3 * CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

All rumours as to the date of the general election being fixed already were discounted by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. Walter Nash, when he arrived on a visit to Christchurch. “It depends on Parliament,” said Mr Nash, “and we are not Parliamentonly a part oil it.” At mention of two current rumours that, the general election would be held during the later halt of October, and that it would be held early in November. Mr Nash laughed. “Yes, one is as good as the other’,” he said. “It will be either about the end of October or early in November.”
