Primary School Reps. To Camp Here
North Auckland Primary School Rugby representatives will bo in full force in Whangarei during the August school holidays.
On Monday. August 22. teams will arrive from Rodney, Otamatea. Northern Wairoa. Midlands District. Bay of Islands. Hokiang'a, and Mangonui. Encamped with them at the Whangarei Primary School will be the local representatives. On Tuesday play will commence in earnest, and should be completed by the following Thursday. The camp will break up on the Friday. During the matches. Mr 1. C' Bunny") Finlayson will be on the lookout for. the best latent, .and he will announce at the end of the tourney the final North Auckland Primary School representative team to contest the Roller Mills Shield in Auckland in the second week of the school holidays. Ideal Camp Conditions. While in Whangarei, the boys will be encamped under ideal conditions. Every morning will start off with refreshing lemon drinks, followed by physical jerks, breakfast and a medical examination by a qualified doctor. Arrangements have been made for meals to be supplied at a leading' restaurant in the town. Monday night—arrival night for most of the boys—-will be a scene of jollity in the camp, when a social evening will be organised. The boys will be given every opportunity to make the acquaintance of each other, as well as being provided with a firstclass programme 'of entertainment featuring the best of local talent. At this social, the Mayor. Mr W. Jones, will be present to address the boys. Help Solicited. Catering for the large representation of North Auckland players is a tremendous undertaking and the local ctlicials appeal to all interested in the sport to help make the camp successful, Donations of the following will be greatly appreciated; Mutton, beet, pork, bacon, or any other moats (the animals need not necessarily be killed at the abattoirs, as they arc donations only): vegetables of all kinds; eggs: fruit, preserves <fruit, jams, etc*.»: and butter in any quantity.
As the executive is anxious to ascertain the help that veil! be given, donors are asked to notify the president or the secretary before August 16. Donations may be left at the Whangaroi School, Whan Valley School, or at Mr [.. Drake’:' cilice. Bank Street Every donation, however small, will lie!p to moke the visitors' stay in VVhangarei a greater success, than could otherwise be the case.
