Ranfurly Shield
[Per Press Association. Copyright'.] DUNEDIN, This Day. A copy of a letter sent to the Manawatu Rugby Union m reply to its request that Otago should accept a challenge for the Ranfurly Shield to be played next Saturday was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union at a meeting of the management committee of the Otago union last night. As a result of the ruling contained in that letter, the position now is that, as previously decided on by Otago, Manawatu can accept. September 24 as the date of the challenge against Otago.
