A New Wheat
(Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 8. After 10 years’ research, Professor F. L. Engledow, Professor of Agriculture at Cambridge Univei’sity, has discovered a new wheat which is believed to be superior to any of Britain’s varieties.
Five ci'ops were proved to yield 10 per cent higher than the best other varieties. The straw is six inches shorter and also stouter, and the grain is highly resistant to rust disease.
