West Indian Commission
(Received 9 a.m.) RUGBY, July 9. The terms of reference and the personnel of yie Royal Commission on the West Indian Colonies, were announced in the House of Commons today by the Colonial Secretary, Mr Malccfim MacDonald. He said the King had approved the appointment of the commission to investigate the social and economic conditions at Barbadoes, British Guiana. British Honduras, Jamaica. the Leeward Islands, Trinidad, Tobago, and the Windward Islands, and matters connected therewith, and to make recommendations. The commission will leave for the West Indies about the second week in October. It will consist of Lord Moyne (chairman), Sir Edward Stubbs (vice-chair-man), Mr R. Asheton, Dr. Mary Blacklock, Sir Walter Citrine, JDame Rachel Crowdy, Professor F. Englebow, Sir Percy McKinnon, and Messrs. H. Henderson and Morgan Jones.
