Improving Cafler’s Avenue

A pleasing beauty spot will be seen at the southern end of Cafler’s Avenue, adjacent to Central Park, during the summer months, when work carried out in the past few months will show to advantage. Not only has a concrete path been laid down to give an allweather connection between. the eastern and western sides of the park, and to the footbridge over the Waiorahia stream, but the lower end of the avenue has been finished off with lawns, shrubs and flowers. What was once a rather unsightly blind end will soon be an attractive little reserve. Sir Earle Page, the Federal Minister, who arrives in Canada next Friday, will spend only 12 days there. In addition to trade negotiations, he will try to arrange for improved British Pacific shipping services.
