When Smallness Wins
Height has llie advantage when one is standing in a crowd of football spectators. Smallness, however, has ds advantages on occasions, as one traveller on a Canterbury rail-line recently proved. He was sealed in one of those un-modern carriages of (.lie second-class species so often met on branch-lines. After the first hour he became tired of the uncomfortable means provided, and so cast his eyes round for a more likely repose. When the guard next put in an appearance there was no sign of the young man. A cheerful salutation from the ceiling. however, directed the guard's attention skywards, and he was surprised to see the traveller swinging in comparative comfort among his baggage in the luggage rack.
