A DEPORTATION order was made aginst Sverre Thingstad. aged 30, ship’s m'otorman. who pleaded guilty at Wellington yesterday to unlawfully landing on July 27. being a prohibited immigrant. He was ordered to be kept in custody pending the execution of the order. ¥ * * * YyHEN a motor car was struck by a train at Melting shortly after ten o’clock yesterday, the occupant. Mr J. J. Reich, aged about 77. who was driving, and Mrs Reich were both j taken to hospital at Lower Hint suffering from severe shock end other injuries. > * # * TN a professional boxing contest on 1 Monday night at Gisborne. Caltaux beat Marshall on a technical knockout in the sixth round after a moderately interesting fight. Marshall fought at short notice, replacing Davis. He gave an unconvincing display. Calt.aux failed to find a guard against Marshall’s left, and depended entirely upon the weight of his punches.
