This time the Whau Valley members were responsible for the decorations and delicious supper. Despite the stormy weather condition,? there were fifteen tables in play and the prize-winners for the evening were Miss Cleaver and Mrs S. C. Blanshard. The president, Mrs R. K. Trammer, wearing a very smart black floral georgette frock, received the guests and presented the prizes. * f.i :|s * Farewell parties will be the order of the day for Dr. Gertrude Colliers, who is leaving Whangarei at the end

of the month to marry Mr E. T. Brosnahard, a well-known Gisborne lawyer, on September ‘J. Dr. Colliers, who. by the way. is the second lady doctor the Whangarei Hospital has had on its static is the only daughter of Mr and Mrs C. F. Galiiers, of Wellington. The comings and goings for the week are quite numerous. Mrs A. J. McKay, after making a very hasty decision, packed her trunks and left on Friday to join the Maunganui. which leaves Wellington for the Island cruise next week. Her follow passet. Mrs D. O’Donoghno. Mrs E. J. set, Mrs P. O’Donoghue. Mrs E. J. Parkes and Miss Jean Stewart, all paid a flying visit to Auckland, while Mrs W. T. Surman is motoring through tomorrow for a few days in the city. Mrs H. F. Buckley, who arrived home after a' short holiday m Auckland, brought her sister. Miss Margaret O'Connor, to be her guest for a few days. Mrs W. Coutts has been staying with her mother. Mrs Len A'dams, of Main’s Avenue.
