Employment" rpAXATION On the Ist AUGUST, an instalment of the Registration Levy will become payable by all male persons twenty years of age and over, other than those entitled to exemption. The second instalment of the Employment Charge of 8d in the £ on income other than salary or wages derived during the j year ended 31st March, 1938, also falls i due on the same date. A penalty of i 10% will be incurred on any instal-! ment not paid within one month of the due date. An employer who employs for more than seven days a person who is in arrears with the Registration Levy is liable, on summary conviction, to a fine of £2O. Further information, including details of the classes of persons who are exempt from. the Registration Levy and the Employment Charge may be obtained from any Money Order Office, or from the Commissioner, Employment Tax Division, Land and Income Tax Department, Wellington, C.l. CIX MONTHS’ CONTINUOUS ° EMPLOYMENT HALF-TIME TRADE TRAINING SPECIAL RESERVE—TERRITORIAL , ARMY Attractive conditions are offered to physically fit young men between the ages of 18 and 30 years to enjoy a healthy and congenial life for six months. Free clothing, medical attention and trade training are provided. RATES OF PAY—(a) During six months’ initial training, 8/- per day, seven days a week (less 2/6 per day , for quarters and rations supplied), (b) During ten days’ annual camp, 9/per day (rations and quarters free). TRADE TRAINING—HaIf of the’ training time of each man will be spent receiving instruction in a trade which he selects. I TERMS OF SERVICE (a) Six months’ continuous training at Trentham Camp before posting to a Territorial Unit, (b) Attendance for three' consecutive years at the annual camp ; (10 days) of the Unit to which posted.
