Gay Farewell Party
Had anyone been passing by 49 Norfolk Street on Wednesday evening last they would have witnessed a very bright and gay scone—-the Misses Mary Evans and Lillian Vcnlry-Smith had invited some 30 of the town’s wollknowns along to bid an revoir to Mr Gordon Palairct. who has been transferred to iho Bank cf Australasia. Kaitaia. Dancing to music supplied by Miss S. Calkin was the order of the evening, and by way of variation the popular songs of today were enthusiastically rendered by all. The Monte Carlo 'prize was won by Miss Olga Moreland and Mr Sam Price. A tasty savoury supper was served. The singing of Auld Lang Syne and an appropriate speech by Gordon saw the curtain ring down on a very happy evening. Among those present wore Hie Misses Peggy Powell, Natalie Allan, Barbara Walker, Sue Griffon. Kim May. Ailsa Garry, Olga Moreland, Marion Prcbble. Kath Williams.
