VERDICT that death was due to toxaemia, resulting from burns received through falling into the fire when drunk, was returned by the coroner, Mr Hunt, at the inquest into the death of Ernest Charles Millar, aged 62. former master mariner, cf Grey’s Avenue. Dr. J. W. Bartram, Auckland Hospital, said Millar was extensively burned on the arms, hands and face. His breath smelt strongly of spirits. He died five days later.
