Business Slackens On ’Change
[Special to "Northern Advocate."} AUCKLAND, This Day. Business continued to fall off on the Auckland Stock Exchange. At | this morning’s call bidding was very quiet and activities negligible. Most Australian industrials showed further slight casings, with the possible exception of Colonial Sugars, which had the highest buying otters for a long time, at £4B, with sellers 5 above. Australian Glass also moved up sharply, closing between £4 15/ and £4 16/. Broken Hill Pty„ G. J. Coles and Electrolytic Zinc all lost ground, and Mt. Lyells were marked down. Among local industrials, Auckland j Gas contributing recovered (Id of 1 their recent decline, and Peters Ice 1 sold at a rise of 3d. Taranaki Oils, ! however, were quoted easier between ! 13 3 and 13/8. I Bank shares showed no material change. Commercials holding yestcr- | day's rise and selling again at .16 3. | N.Z. Insurances gained a further 3d. Interest was lacking in Government securities, no appreciable change i in quotations being made. Noon f all.
