Unusual Legal Event
[Per Press Association. Copy right.l | WELLINGTON, This Day. j A sitting of the Court of Appeal will j be held in Auckland on Wednesday next to deal with an extradition case of some importance. This will be an event most unusual in the legal his-1 tory of New Zealand. As far as records j show, this will be only the second oc-1 casion on which the Court of Appeal j has sat outside Wellington. The pro- j vious occasion was in Christchurch, j about 40 years ago. The case which will engage the attention of the Court is an appeal by Detective-Sergeant C. E. Godwin, of the New South Wales Police Force, against a decision of Mr C. R. OrrWalkcr, S.M., in respect of an extradition warrant issued in Sydney directing the apprehension and return to | New South Wales of the person who j is named in the warrant, and who is required to answer a criminal charge.
