Onerahi
Mrs Franklin, of Beach Road, has returned, after spending five weeks with her daughter, Mrs C. D. Cullen, of Tanekaha, Hikurangi. Mr and Mrs Fagan and Miss Gladys Fagan, of Te Puke, paid a short visit to their grand-parents, Mr and Mrs D. W. O. Fagan. Mrs McLean and her daughter Jessie have returned from an enjoyable holiday spent in Auckland and Rotorua. Mr and Mrs P. Daly and family are the guests of Mrs Daly’s sister, Mrs McLean. Mr and Mrs L. Nelson, of Te Aroha, recently paid a visit to Onerahi, as the guests of their aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs H. Stewart. Card Evenings. The usual fortnightly card evening, held in the school, was well attended. Keen playing resulted in the prizes going to Mrs H. Stewart and Mr A. Beasley, while Mr Gemmell carried off the aggregate prize. The winners at the 500 evening, held at Mrs Stewart’s home, were Mr J. Joass and Mrs C. Whimp. The last card evening was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Frogley, the winners being Mrs Scott and Mr Larcombe. Dainty suppers were served at both homes and very enjoyable evenings were spent. Dance. The Women’s Institute held a successful dance in the Town Hall . on Saturday last. In spite of the inclement weather, a good crowd rolled up, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening' resulted. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss Lorna McLean and Mr Eric Stewart. Mrs Hodgson carried out the duties of M.C.
