Whangarei picture-goers saw the popular British film comedian, Jack Hulbert, in his best effort to date last night, when the new London film production, “Paradise For Two, - ' opened at the Regent Theatre. Hulbert has a new leading lady in Patricia Ellis, beautiful singing and dancing star.. A millionaire who does his dancing in 'a bank instead of a theatre, and who attends to finance in the theatre instead of in the bank, is the amusing theme. It's the story of a millionaire banker—with a mania for dancing—and a chorus girl. Only in this ca§e the girl doesn’t know the banker, but gets run over by his car 'and driven to the theatre in it. The incident sets rumour flowing and she finds herself a leading lady with unlimited credit. But all the bills get sent t 0 Jack. The millionaire calls on the chorus girl to find cut why he has to pay her bills. But she expecting a reprter and that starts one of the most hilarious incognito romances the screen has ever presented. Crammed full of hilarity, the film, which features four new songs, dozens of now dancing creations, and sixty gorgeous girls, will be shown again tonight.
