Family Doubly Bereaved
Deepest sympathy will be extended to Mr and Mrs R. D. Roberts, of Kara, in the death of their five-year-old daughter, Dorothy, which took place at the Whangarei District Hospital this morning. On the 11th of this month they lost their only son, Rex Ernest, aged seven, the cause in both instances complications following an attack of measles. The parents are bearing their double bereavements with true Christian fortitude. No one could have done more to save two such valuable lives, and both children were given loving attention for every minute of their indisposition. In the case of the little daughter it appeared a normal case of measles, but on the doctor’s second visit he decided that it would be best for her to be admitted to hospital. -Bronchitis intervened, and the girl collapsed at 2 a.m. today. The funeral will leave the Whangarei Baptist Church, where a short service will be held, at 10.50 a.m. tomorrow for Maunu Cemetery.
