Settlers of the Hikurangi Swamp Drainage area will be interested to note that a sum of only £350 is included in Ihe current Public Works Department Estimates. In 1937-38, £3OO was voted and £344 spent. The estimated cost of the work when authorised was £98,000. and the total expenditure up to March 31 last was £238,952.
