Auckland Citizen Disappears

[Special to “Northern Advocate.”] AUCKLAND, Tuesday. Anxiety is felt for the safety of Mr Lionel Benjamin Taylor, who disappeared from the city at 10.30 a.m. last Tuesday morning, and has not been seen or heard of since. Late the same afternoon his motor-car was found parked near the Orakei wharf, when the matter was reported to the city police. Mr Taylor, who lived with his wife and son at 27 Grange Road, Mt. Eden, was a farm machinery dealer, and left his home about 9 a.m. on Tuesday in his car for his place of business in the city. He had an appointment with his solicitor that morning, but this he did not keep. Not hearing anything from Mr Taylor during the day, the solicitor at 4.30 p.m. reported his client’s disappearance to the police. About an hour later the solicitor, when travelling along Tamaki Drive, discovered Mr Taylor’s five-scater sedan car parked near the Orakei wharf. The car was close to the waterfront, and facing in the direction of Kohimarama. The car was taken by the police and parked at the police station, where it has since remained.
