Keen Competition At Frankton

There was a heavy yarding of fat sheep at the Frankton stock sale yesterday. with fat wethers showing an casing in values. Fat ewes were also penned in large numbers, with only prime sorts in demand, prices being on a par wtih late rates. A full yarding of cow and heifer beef came forward, and included a large proportion of finished cattle. Competition was keen, and values generally showed an improvement on last week’s sales. There was a light yarding of fat pigs, comprising mostly porkers, for which competition was very keen, with values in advance of last week’s quotations. The New Zealand Loan and 1 Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. reports:— Cattle. —Fat bullocks, £9/10/- to £lO/17/6; lighter, £B/15/- to £9/5/-; unfinished, £8 to £B/12/6; fat cows, £7/5/- to £8; medium. £6 to £7; light and unfinished, £5 to £6; heavy store cows, £4/10/- to £5; store cows', £3/5/- to £4/7/6; boners, £l/5/- to £2/5/-; heavy prime runners, £7/2/6 to £B/2/6; prime, £5/10/- to £6/15/-; prime yealers, £4/10/- to £5; vealers, £3/12/6 to £4/5/-; small, £l/10/- to £2/12/6.
