During the year ending May 31, 1938, the Northern Wairoa Dairy Company manufactured 3307 tons 11 cwt 12 lbs of butter compared with 3577.05 tons last year, a reduction of 269 i tons, or 7.5 per cent. Pay-out. The pay-out for the 1936-37 season was 13.6062 d per lb of butterfat. For the current season advances for all grades amounted to 12.3918 d per lb lat, and, with the amount available for distribution inclusive of interest on share capital, but not on stores rebate, the return for all grades, for the season will amount to 14.1918 d per lb butterfat. Summary.

Lower Over-run. The pay-out was lower than it would otherwise have been owing to the fact that the over-run was down to 21.5 compared with 22.64 last season, and with other factories with an over-rim of 22 cr over. Comparison of manufacturing costs per Jb butterfat:—

Balance for Distribution. The balance for distribution is £45,753 17/4. The directors propose to distribute interest at 6 per cent, on eligible shares involving £IBOO. and the balance in a bonus of 2.25 d per lb on butterfat supplied.
