Improving Land In The North
[Special to “Northern Advocate/'} WELLINGTON, This Day. Improvements to land in various parts of Northland are provided for in the P.W.D. Estimates announced today. The net total under this heading for the whole of the Dominion is £187,000. The following are the allocated amounts for the Whangarei Road District: — Dargaville borough, Otamatea and Hobson counties’ water supply, £IOO (estimated to complete, £103); Kumingamatia Stream (temporary floodgate), £670. Rawene tidal flats reclamation. Hokianga harbour, £1845, in addition to an amount provided from the Employment Promotion Fund. Last year £2050 was voted for this work, and £1369 expended. The estimated cost of completion is £1843. Ruawai Flats drainage survey, £6OO. Sand dunes reclamation; Kaitaia, £3240. Of the £SIOO voted last year, £4972 was expended, the estimated cost to complete being £3268 To Kopuru, £ 1600.
