“We Want Bradman”
(Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 25. After the test at Leeds had ended, players grabbed stumps and bails. The crowd swarmbd across the pitch to the pavilions. Long afterwards, thousands thronged around the pavilion, shouting: “We want Bradman,” and his appearance was cheered. Spectators refused to leave until Hammond and Bradman shook hands on the balcony. The attendance today was 36,000, and the total for the match 93,000. The takings at the turnstile for the three days amounted to £9291.
