Mike’s many Mayoral duties are all performed with zest; He's often at the Orphanage,, and tries to do his best For all the orphan children; and oh. they like him well. Because he gives them fruit and nut-s more times than I can tell.

You see him at the Old Men's Home, where he’s a favourite, too. "When Michael comes,” the old men say, “we don’t feel cold or blue, Because he talks and jokes with us; he's always full of fun; And he distributes baccy and scarves to everyone!”

Now Mike is at the Hospital. Nurse Penguin, neat and trim Has summoned Doctor Collie Dog to come and talk to him. Then Michael walks around the wards and all the patients say, “How good of you to visit us; do come again some day.”

And Mike does not forget the Gaol. While he’s Inspecting it He sees his rival, Simon Stoat, who cries, “Mike, wait a bit! I want to tell you I’ve reformed. My bad career has ended; And I am glad that you are Mayor. 'The work you do is splendid!”
