(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, July 23. Germany has eliminated France from the Davis Cup contest, and Yugoslavia has eliminated Belgium, as a result of the semi-finals in the European zone.
At Berlin in the first singles, Henkel (Germany) beat Petra, 4—6, 6 —l, 11—9, 6—2; and von Metaxa (Germany) beat Destremeau, 6—4, 7 —5, 5—7. 5—7, 6—3. In the doubles, Henkel and von Metaxa defeated Petra and Lesueur, 4—6, 6—4, 2—6, 10—8, 6—4. At Brussels, Puncec (Yugoslavia) beat Van den Eynde, 2 —6, 6 —o, 6 —l,
6—2, and Pallada (Yugoslavia) beat Lacroix, 6 —4, 6—l, 6 —2 in the singles. In the doubles, Kukeljevic and Mlitic (Yugoslavia) beat Deborman and Geeland, 6—3, 6—3, 3—6, 10—8. ,
