■ A bring-and-buy fair was held in Mr : Guy’s building on Thursday in aid of funds for the National Party. The windows were neatly decorated with fruit and vegetable'as well as a supply of drapery. Alter their successful afternoon the ladies were well satisfied with their takings. Lots of gaiety was to be had at the footballers’ dance held in the Recreation Hail on Thursday night. There was a fair attendance or visitors ircm far and near. Hanging lamps provided the gay light, which showed up the tastetul decoration consisting of red and white streamers with clusters of j fern here and there. Hearty congratulations were extended to the members of the basketball club, who provided the delightful supper. Miss D. O. Neill played an extra. Personal. Mr. R. Bradley of the local post office 1 has returned from his annual holiday. 1 Mrs. T. Rowscll and her daughter Paddy, who have been the guests of Mrs Rowsell’s mother, Mrs. H. R. Vail, for two weeks, have returned to Okaihau. rm
